Summary: Key features in a nutshell
The Rhine-Main-Universities organised a World Café on artificial intelligence, innovation, and climate change in Brussels and various cities in Germany and virtually.
The organisers assigned each participating scientist to a table. The policymakers had discussions in small groups with a scientist at each table. After 45-60 minutes of discussion, the policymakers moved to another table while the scientists remained at their tables.
The format effectively facilitated discussion in small groups between policymakers and researchers from different academic disciplines.
Challenges included high no-show rates and varying levels in terms of preparation. The organisers learned to account for these challenges.
